draft-pane is a Claude Code plugin, a Claude Mod, for feedback on a draft in place, with fewer turns.
It works only in Claude Code, in a terminal session or in the Code tab of Claude Code Desktop.
Its skill, draft-pane:draft, makes Claude write a requested draft inside a fenced draft block, and the pane beside the transcript shows the newest open draft.
You drag over a span and type a comment, comment on the whole draft, or approve it, and one Submit sends every comment as one prompt that quotes each span.
Features
Section titled “Features”- Comments on spans. Drag over a span of the draft, type in the
commentinput, and press Enter. Each comment stays under the line of the words it quotes. - The whole draft.
whole draftopens one comment on the whole draft, andApprovesends(approved)to say the draft can be used as it is. - One feedback prompt.
SubmitsendsFeedback (draft-pane) on D3:, then each quoted span as a>line with its comment under it, in draft order, and the whole-draft comment last. - Numbered drafts. A draft starts with
D<n>: <title>, and a revision starts withD<m> (revises D<n>): <title>. Numbers are never reused. - File drafts. A
file: <path>line after the header shows a file that already exists as the draft, and the feedback prompt names that file. - A richer pane on the desktop. In the Code tab of Claude Code Desktop, each draft is a card with its number, title, and line, word, and character counts. Besides
Comment, aPreviewview draws the draft as markdown, or a code file with syntax colors, and a revision has aChanges from D<n>view with the diff against the draft it revises. A bar shows where the comments fall in the draft.
How an agent uses it
Section titled “How an agent uses it”Start with /draft-pane:draft <what to draft>, or ask Claude for a draft of any text.
Claude writes the draft in a draft block.
The feedback prompt reaches Claude with each comment next to the exact span it is about, and a revision comes back as a new numbered block.
