headsign is a pair of skills that help a coding agent create and improve a project’s way of working. You give the agent the outcome, the constraints, and the checks the project can run. The agent chooses the method, uses those checks, and improves the method when feedback exposes a weakness. They are ordinary skills that use the host’s own tools and the project’s commands, and they need no headsign CLI, workflow state, hooks, npm installation, or build step. The README gives install commands for Codex and Claude Code.
Features
Section titled “Features”create-project-skill. Creates a local skill from repository evidence or from commands you supply.improve-project-skill. Improves an existing local skill from work feedback and evidence.- Repairs during the work. When review findings repeat, the agent assesses why its method missed them, repairs the method, and applies the repair before it submits again.
- Limits that hold. Improvement stays within the task’s authority and remaining budget. The agent keeps explicit constraints, honors a stop, and asks for authority for work beyond the request.
- Checks as evidence. A check supplies evidence, and a model still judges whether that evidence covers the requested outcome. Passing tests do not show that every requirement is met.
How an agent uses it
Section titled “How an agent uses it”Ask the agent to use a skill by name, for example:
Use create-project-skill to create a local skill for this repository. Discover the checks it can run. Preserve our required outcomes and constraints.
Creating a skill and doing the work it describes are separate tasks. To authorize both, add “Then use the new skill to complete the task we agreed on.” Installing these skills does not turn off the hooks of an older headsign plugin, and the README points to a migration guide for an update from v0.16.0 or older.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Either installer works. These commands install both skills for Codex at user scope:
gh skill install meganemura/headsign --all --agent codex --scope usernpx skills add meganemura/headsign --skill '*' --agent codex --globalFor Claude Code, replace codex with claude-code.
gh skill uses the latest GitHub Release, and npx skills uses the default branch.
